"Direklerarası (Intermast)" award to Municipal Theater

Maltepe Municipal Theater was rewarded with the 18th Direklerarası Theater Awards with the children play named "Güneş Kasabası Sirki (Sun Town Circus) in the category of "Children's Play". 
The members of folk jury, which was costituted by the audiences of "Direklerarası",  evaluated the plays by watching them which were staged in İstanbul in 2017-18 theater season. They made a decision for the successful plays, players, and theaters in the categories of "Performance", "Design" and "Production". The folk jury awarded the prize to "Güneş Kasabası Sirki" (Sun Town Circus) in the field of production. In the play, 26 students from the Maltepe Municipal Theater and Independent Happiness Center Theater Workshop, which consisted of municipal employees and led by Mayor Ali Kılıç in the establishment, featured. The play, which was set up to keep children and young people away from bad habits, was staged on November 2017 after five months of rehearsals.
Direklerarası awards will be given to the owners at a ceremony that will be held at Kozyatağı Cultural Center in İstanbul on Sunday, April 15th at 20.30.
